Why privacy

Privacy is a human right. Nobody posts their bank statement on a billboard, but on a public chain that's exactly what happens. Every wallet's history, every balance and every payment is visible to anyone, forever.
Public by default
Once someone links a wallet to you, through an exchange withdrawal, a payment, a tweet or an ENS-style name, they can see everything that wallet has ever done. They can see what you earn, who pays you, who you pay, what you trade and how much you hold. That record never goes away.
This isn't only a problem for whales. A freelancer who gets paid on-chain shows their client list to every client. A team paying contributors shows its whole payroll. A trader shows their positions to everyone who wants to trade against them.
What Lethe changes
Lethe gives Elysium a shared pool where balances are encrypted and spends are proven without saying whose they are. Money goes in publicly and comes out privately, so the link between the two is broken. The more people use the pool, the stronger that break becomes for everyone.
Who it's for
- People getting paid. Share a payment link without showing the wallet that holds everything else.
- Traders. Buy a token without the whole market seeing your main wallet move.
- Teams. Pay contributors without publishing your payroll.
- Anyone. Who thinks their finances are their own business.
Why "Lethe"
In Greek myth, Lethe is the river of forgetting that runs through the underworld. Souls drank from it and forgot their past lives before entering Elysium. Your HYPE goes in, and the chain forgets where it came from.
