Lethe docs
Lethe is a privacy pool for HYPE on Elysium. You add HYPE to a shared pool, then send from your private balance without your wallet appearing on the send. It's built with zero-knowledge proofs, a Merkle tree and a relayer.
How it works
- Connect. Sign a fixed message. It costs no gas, sends no transaction, and creates the keys for your private balance on your device.
- Add funds. Leave the recipient empty and deposit HYPE from your wallet. This transaction is public and shows your wallet.
- Send. Enter a recipient. Your device creates a zero-knowledge proof that spends from your balance without saying which deposit is yours, and the relayer submits it.
The proof fixes the recipient, amount and fee, so the relayer can't change them. A tampered transaction fails on-chain.
Your private balance
Each balance is stored on-chain as an encrypted record that only your keys can read. Connect the same wallet and sign the same message on any device, and your balance comes back. There's nothing to save.
What's public
| Data | Add funds | Send |
|---|---|---|
| Your wallet | Public | Hidden |
| Link to your deposit | — | Hidden |
| Your private balance | Hidden | Hidden |
| Amount | Public | Public |
| Recipient | — | Public |
| Timing | Public | Public |
Lethe hides who sent, not that a send happened. See Privacy tips for how to avoid linking yourself.
Fees
- Adding funds: network gas only.
- Sending: 0.25% of the amount plus 0.0005 HYPE, paid to the relayer from your private balance.
- Combining balances: a proof spends at most two balances, so Lethe may merge smaller ones first. Each merge costs 0.0005 HYPE.
Total volume
The total on the home page adds up every HYPE amount sent out of the pool, read from on-chain transactions. It doesn't count deposits, so the same HYPE isn't counted twice.
Limits
- Lethe runs on Elysium and supports HYPE only.
- A deposit fails if it would take the pool over its balance cap.
- Our server sees your IP address when you send, and doesn't keep logs of it. On-chain, the send comes from the relayer.
