Terms

• Pool. The Lethe contract that holds everyone's HYPE together.
• Private balance. Your HYPE in the pool, which only your keys can see or spend.
• Note. One piece of a private balance, stored on-chain as a commitment plus an encrypted amount.
• Commitment. A hash that represents a note without revealing anything about it.
• Nullifier. A value published when a note is spent, so it can't be spent twice. It doesn't reveal which note it was.
• Merkle tree. The structure holding every commitment. Proofs show a note is in it without pointing to which leaf.
• Zero-knowledge proof. A proof that something is true, like "I own an unspent note", without revealing why.
• Relayer. The service that submits your send and pays its gas, so your wallet stays off the transaction.
• Anonymity set. Everyone you could be. The more deposits in the pool, the larger it is.
• Fresh wallet. A brand new address with no history, made on your device.
